For the third consecutive year, BenQ has entered into a sponsorship enabling the brand to supply it’s premium range of gaming monitors to the world’s best gamers for the world’s most prestigious tournament - the Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) – which kicked off in Shanghai China late last month.

The IEM – Intel Extreme Masters – is into its eighth season, and is the elite global professional gaming tour organised by Electroncis Sports League (ESL) which this year comenced in July and will conclude in March 2014.

BenQ has supplied the touranment with 172 monitors, the majority of them the flagship XL2420T and XL2411T models – both premium gaming monitors designed for specifically for professional gaming.

Director at Pro Gaming at ESL, Michael Blicharz said, “It means the world to us to have a partner that is fully in sync with our core philosophy, and I’m proud that we have built such a long-standing relationship with BenQ because their monitors are a part of the perfect environment we create for gamers.”

Said Martin Moelle, BenQ Australia’s Managing Director, “BenQ’s involvment in the last three IEM tournaments has focussed the eyes of the world’s gaming fraternity on the enhanced experience BenQ can provide with its gaming hardware.  It’s been an ideal partnership for us, and we’re extremely proud to join IEM once again to show our dedicated support for gaming communities around the world.

“Being the official sponsor of this prestigious event has provided an amazing opportunity to really get to know the gamers and hear first hand in detail what they’re looking for in perfecting their gameplay,” said Moelle.  “In turn, by wrestling with the complexity of gaming mechanics we are optimising the gaming experience with each new model we release.”

An enthusiastic supporter of the athletic spirit of e-Sports, BenQ is actively involved in global gaming communities with its most recent sponsorship of Major League Gaming 2013 Pro Circuit Season.  BenQ is known for sponsoring many great teams and players including the former WarCraft III superstar and now StarCraft II pro gamer Manuel ‘Grubby’ Schenkhuizen.

“BenQ will continue to show support for the gaming community and bring the excitement of their exceptional gaming experience to gamers globally,” said Moelle.
